Book Review: The Ones We Burn by Rebecca Mix

“I am no one’s daughter, I am a weapon. Use me.” The Ones We Burn is an excellent book. For being 80 chapters and over 400 pages it’s surprisingly fast-paced. I was hooked on every word and couldn’t wait to see what would pop up next. There were plenty of plot twists to keep readers interested. The magic system could have used a little more in depth explanation, but the main parts were easy to follow. This author’s take on life, love, and royalty are a pleasure to read.
